How to Build a Telescope?
INSIGHTS & WORKSHOP DESIGN
INSIGHTS
Rising India still has thousands of students from marginalized or underserved communities who do not have access to resources to learn about the principles of Physics and Astronomy.
This has significantly reduced the number of students to go for STEM subjects especially Physics and R&D (Research & Development).
OBJECTIVE
To conduct a workshop which is creative, engaging, interactive on subject of Astrophysics to generate interest among age group between 13 -17 & motivate them to explore their dreams & thereby translating the vision of our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to “Make India The Hub Of Innovation” into action.
CHALLENGE
Traditional telescopes are often too expensive for these communities, and as a result, students may not have the opportunity to explore and learn about the wonders of the universe.
UNIQUE SOLUTION
Creating a low-cost telescope using chart papers, lenses, and glue.
The telescope can be assembled as part of a workshop, where students from marginalized or underserved communities can learn about the principles of physics and astronomy that went into creating the pocket-friendly telescope.
This solution will increase curiosity in students about the subject matter and give them a tangible tool to explore the universe.
